‘Plutonium’ is a deftly crafted tale which showcases the vocal talent of Chris McConaghy in breathtaking fashion. Broken, vamped chords tumble over an aching lyric which describe perfectly the joy of falling in love (…again?). Images of boyhood flutter into view throughout the track and our singer’s ‘dreams of plutonium’ are perhaps a metaphor for the elemental search for a soulmate.
